The most "graphic" verses in On the Epang Palace are the ones that depict the walls and eaves of the palace. I think that this project is based on feelings and perceptions. When I put the descriptions of the verses into reality, I found the mortise and tenon of the eaves, the stacked tiles and the different forms of the pagodas. I found that they are "twisting and turning" as the poem describes. The overlapping of the architectural elements also creates a sense of grandeur, and with it, a sense of power and oppression. These elements in a way echo the establishment of the Epang Palace and the tyranny of Qin Shi Huang and the destruction of the dynasty.
